The pictures below are from our family's home in the South of France. We rent out our home during the year when we are not visiting and licensed hams are allowed to use the station.
![]() This is the operating setup for F/WM4SG - primarily RTTY and PSK-31, with an occasional SSB contact. The rigs are Kenwoods TS-930S and TS-830S with a Kenwood TL-922A amplifier. Operating RTTY is usually at about 400 watts output. PSK-31 power is 40 watts.
This is view of the rooftop mounted Butternut Vertical. Other antennas begin to the right and are mostly out of view. They include an Alpha/Delta Dipole and a low power Outbacker. The thing you see on the right is a TV antenna mounted on the chimney.
The village of St. Thibery is a nice place to visit and a tempting place to retire. The villagers are very friendly and helpful. There are four other Ham Radio operators in the village - 3 French and 1 Canadian.
Early in 1999 the Martin family bought a 200 year old house (the walls are 2 feet thick) in the South of France. The village is over 2500 years old and is only twelve kilometers from the beaches of the Mediterranean. This is a view down the street that runs past our house, on the left.
