Here is a Great Northern GP-35 pulling a local of hopper cars.

Note the headlights as the GP-35 crosses the bridge.  Below the bridge, parked on a siding, is a W&CM GP-35 waiting with two tankers.

This is a Chicago & Northwestern SD-70 leading a long freight on the mainline.

This is also an intersection of three tracks, two crossovers and three switches at this point, with rail traffic crossing from six directions.

On the left is a view of the Happy Trails Cemetery with a stream and pond in the background.

On the right, next to the local line, is a "bare" hunter answering the call of nature.
Unfortunately, as the bear arrives, his gun is at the end of the log next to his backpack, closer to the bear. The joys of the wilderness.

On the left are three boys fishing along side of the Great Northern mainline as a freight speeds by.

No one seems to be bothering the boys while they are fishing, but......

These men fishing are not so lucky.

While one holds up his "catch", if you look closely you can see the Game Warden, standing on the bridge, taking it all in.

They should have gone fishing with the boys in the previous picture.

It was not uncommon in some parts of the country to find an old caboose that had been made into a house.

Here the "woman" of the house is ready to party while the man by the dog house has already started (note the bottle in his hand).

Here we have a Great Northern freight passing main street. In front of the furniture store (at the far right) is a South Dakota Highway Patrol cruiser.

The setting for this Northern Pacific and Great Northern route is South Dakota.

Now here is an interesting shot along the local line. A Northern Pacific switch engine, in the center, pulling a short freight. On the left is a group of Scouts out hiking.    In case you wonder what they are "scouting" for - on the right you can see three young ladies sunbathing.

Boys will be boys. Here are three young men pushing over an outhouse along the local tracks.

At the bottom right is a gondola car as a freight passes. Reminds me of several stories.....
